The second-generation Nissan Kicks officially arrived in 2024, first launching in the United States before expanding into Latin America the following year. At the recent Bangkok International Motor Show, however, Nissan revealed another crossover carrying the “all-new Kicks” label. Despite the branding, this model is actually a heavily refreshed version of the outgoing Kicks. In fact, a near-identical version is already on sale in Latin America as the Kicks Play. EXTERIOR:

Visually, the Thailand-market Kicks closely mirrors the Kicks Play, with little separating the two beyond their rear emblems. Relative to the previous locally sold Kicks, the refreshed model adopts redesigned bumpers and a new grille, complemented by split-level lighting up front and updated taillights. The changes are also reflected in the dimensions, with length stretching slightly to 4,300 mm from 4,290 mm, while the wheelbase expands by 5 mm to 2,620 mm.

Inside the cabin, the Thailand-spec Nissan Kicks adopts a revised dashboard layout, replacing the circular side air vents found in the Kicks Play with rectangular units. While the Latin American version also introduced updated central air vents, the Thai model continues to use the previous arrangement. Another notable change is the infotainment display, which is now positioned above the dashboard rather than integrated into it. Base variants are equipped with a 9-inch screen, while higher trims receive a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Even the entry-level Nissan Kicks comes generously equipped, featuring a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, a rearview camera, six airbags, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. Mid-spec variants add wireless smartphone charging, a 360-degree camera system, and lane-keeping assist. At the top of the range, the flagship model further gains a digital rearview mirror and reverse automatic emergency braking.

For the Thai market, the Nissan Kicks sticks exclusively with the brand’s e-Power hybrid technology, unchanged from the refreshed version of its predecessor. The system pairs an 82 hp naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine acting purely as a generator never mechanically linked to the wheels with a 136 hp front-mounted electric motor responsible for propulsion. Interestingly, the second-generation Kicks sold elsewhere continues with traditional engine setups, while the Kicks Play also remains non-hybrid.

The Nissan Kicks will continue to be built locally in Thailand, and customers can already place their orders. Prices for the crossover start at 839,000 baht and rise to 929,000 baht, depending on the variant.
